In the Laos town Luang Prabang the monks walk the main road every morning to receive food from the villagers. This happens between 6 and 7 am and about 200 monks walk this path.
This lovely ceremony turned into quite a tourist attraction as I was surprised to see so many people on the street on this unforgiving hour. Nonetheless it was something special to witness; I especially had to laugh when one of the women stuffed all her leftover food in the basket of this last monk.

In de ochtend kan het nog redelijk fris zijn, maar volgens mij zijn de blote vloeten een deel van de ceremonie. Overdag zie ik ze namelijk gewoon lopen met sandalen aan.
