The colourful letters of Mexico
What to do on your last relaxation days in Mexico? Spend it in the popular Playa del Carmen! After our beautiful but hectic travels in Chiapas and Yucatan, it was time to wind down with some sun, sea and beaches.
The booked hotel was close to the bustling 5th Avenida street, where we could enjoy the more touristy part for a few days and have an evening stroll along the 2km strip of shops and restaurants.
On the itinerary was a luxury catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres, an island just off the coast with white sandy beaches and turquoise water. We witnessed the sunset and the open bar with cocktails that kept coming at a regular pace 🙂
To top it all off, on the last day we of course had to treat ourselves to a relaxing massage!
On the way back to the airport we had one last police control. When I showed him my license he took a quick look and cheerfully said “Holanda!” Yes, it was all good and we could drive along 😀
