From Bryce we drove route 12 to Capitol Reef. A scenic route that showed all the lovely autumn colors.
Arriving at Capitol Reef we first stopped for breakfast/lunch. This was the first time my mom ate at Subway. She said “If there is no Denny’s, Subway is good too.” (Backbground info: we’ve gotten to be very fond of Denny’s.)
Capitol Reef is less popular than Zion or Bryce. So you can enjoy it’s beauty without too many people walking around. Around 3.30 pm the sun was low enough to start our hike to Hickman’s Bridge. When you walk in this park you feel like a tiny part of Mother nature. So impressive are the rock formations, we seem like ants.
