Just got back from Yosemite National Park. What an exhausting but fulfilling day it was. This park is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to.
The first stop in the park was at Mariposa Grove. Here are the huge Sequoia trees and those things are huge. We did a small hike to the ‘Giant Grizzly’. This tree is 2700 years old and is a big as a 19 storey building or a boeing 747. Luckily we got up early, so we were there before the crowds.

When we entered the main part of Yosemite the first thing you see is the ‘Tunnel View’. And what a view it is. Well, see the main picture and decide if you should come and visit 😀
I thought it was breath taking.
We parked the car and took the shuttle bus to the starting point of a trail that lead to Vernal Fall. It was the end of the season, so it was pretty dry everywhere. But the park ranger said this fall still was flowing.
We thought it would be an easy walk to the fall, but it turned out to be on the contrary. After 20 minutes of climbing I asked someone how much further it would be. The answer was 20 more minutes. Mom was exhausted so I continued on my own. 20 minutes later I came to a bridge and asked the question again. The answer also was 20 more minutes. Half an hour later I was at the base of the fall and it was worth the hike. I stopped for a while to take some pictures and enjoy the view.

The way back down was easy. I met my mom back again at the bridge, so she continued to walk further as well at her own pace. When we came down the trail a lady asked us how it was. I told her it was astonishing. We had a very nice talk and told her about our 3 week holiday. I guess a lot of people enjoyed our conversation because after a while there we quite a few people listening in 😀
Back in Yosemite village we stopped at the ‘Valley View’ for some pics and wanted to go to Glacier Point for the sunset. After a few miles into the road we were low on gas, since there wasn’t any gas station in the park, we decided to head back. Fortunately we did, because we were almost running on fumes before we filled up.
So yeah, exciting day.
