My first real vacation since I came back from Asia. Oh and I desperately needed to be away, even if it’s only for a week. I’ve been going skiing with my family ever since I was five. With a few exceptions we always go to the same place in Austria; Ellmau, a small village that gets packed with the Dutch invasion once a year.
I’m actually not surprised that my German language skills are just horrible. All the time that I’m visiting this place I can do just fine with my basic German: schnitzel mit pommes frites or maybe kaizerschmarren, both are meals and I guess all I need to get around.
No matter how many times I’ve been here, it’s always a lot of fun. I love skiing, feeling the wind in my face and tears running from my eyes. The faster I can go the better. Feeling a bit of adrenaline rush makes me feel alive.
Since a few years I also downloaded the app SkiTrack, which uses GPS to measure how fast I ski and how many kilometers I ski.
