Just passed the first month of traveling and came to this point that you just have to stop doing anything, stop going to any place, but just relax. The last 2 days were all about doing nothing so it’s time to reflect on Laos.
My expectations of Laos were non existent and for a good reason. No jaw dropping landscapes and quite a few frustrating encounters with the locals. Unlike Thailand I shared all means of transportation with only Westerners and every time they drop us of outside the city to let the tuk-tuk drivers earn some extra cash.
If you would just have a short amount of time, I would have skipped this country altogether.
Nonetheless, Laos is great to meet fun and interesting backpackers. Travelling by slowboat for 2 days really helps connecting with a large variety of people who share the same interest: traveling.
