Getting a haircut

After months of traveling and sunshine I started to look like a bewildered hippy. My hair has gotten way too blonde for my liking and it seems like it was growing faster than usual.

A haircut has been on my mind for the past few weeks but I was rather hesitant about doing it here in Asia. Would they have any experience in Western style hair?

One night in Malacca I walked passed this barbershop, peeked through the window and the place and time just felt right. Two ladies let me in who were very enthusiastic and asked if I wanted to dye my hair as well. Actually I do! They immediately showed me a color chart and gave some advice.

10 Minutes later I was let to a small room in the back where the hairdresser started to do his work. The whole operation took over 2 hours. Meanwhile children came in looking and touching me and I had a nice chitchat about Malaysian culture compared to the Dutch.

I must say that I’m more than happy with the final result, even better than in the Netherlands for 1/5th of the price!
