Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia which is mostly known because of the movie Entrapment with Sean Connery and Catherina Zeta Jones. Well at least, that’s the link I always made.
Upon arrival I met up with my friend Alex who I have met in Vietnam. We went sightseeing together which was fun for the both of us, because as a local you usually don’t go to the touristy places.
First on the list was the Petronas Towers. This used to be the tallest building in the world. Even if the height has been surpassed by other skyscrapers, it’s still a magnificent structure that’s even more impressive at night.
Just outside Kuala Lumpur is the Batu Caves; a hindu-temple that can only be reached after climbing a steep flight of 272 steps. The most fun part of the cave is the monkeys who are hanging around. They are rather cheeky and sometimes aggressive, but cute nonetheless. One was looking rather fiercely at me that made me squeal and run away.
The Bird Park isn’t something that would be high on a must-see list, but fun anyways. I especially liked this bird who gave me a “what-the-fuck-are-you-looking-at” look.
