Tainan is the oldest city and former capital of Taiwan. Settlers from China and Europe who came to Taiwan first arrived in Tainan. The Dutch have strong roots here as the VOC established a ruling and trading base.
A one day visit to Tainan is perfect to visit all the main sights in the city. I used the afternoon of arrival to explore the city center with its abundance of temples, and the morning after for the Anping district.

Where to stay in Tainan?
I preferred staying close to the TRA station, as it’s easier for travel, and all the temples are in that area too. Huzi room offer spacious and very comfortable rooms for a very affordable price. After booking they ask you for a payment through a link they send, this is legit.
