Join the national water fight
White Temple
No ancient history to find here, as they started building the White Temple in 1998. Personally I thought this one was much more impressive than the usual tempels. The exterior is just something non comparable but on the inside they have modern drawings of Spiderman, Neo from the Matrix and the Twin Towers.
Khun Kon Waterfall
Make sure you come here early and you have the place all to yourself. A fun but adventurous walk of 1.5 km through the jungle takes you to this 70m high waterfall. Here you can swim, have a picnic or just listen to the water clash.
Black House
A few km North of Chiang Rai is the Black House (Bandaam museum). It takes some effort finding this place since there are hardly any sign posts. This place is like the opposite of the White Temple and looks almost Viking/tribe. I wasn’t as impressed here but the contrast sure was nice.
