This year is the 50th anniversary of SAIL Amsterdam. From 20 August until 24 August 2025 is the largest maritime event in the world, which takes place only once in every 5 years. Various tall ships and other unique vessels from across the globe come together at the IJ in Amsterdam.
The best way to experience this magnificent happening is on a boat during the SAIL-In parade. SAIL-In is on the first day of the 5 day SAIL event and the moment when all the ships come in through the Noordzeekanaal to Amsterdam.
I feel absolutely blessed to be part of the experience, seeing the magnificent ships up close and sharing the water with thousands of other boats. Of course I took this opportunity to shoot photos of these beauties.
