Off-road Cape Town on a scooter
On our stop through Oudtshoorn it is obligated to visit an ostrich farm. With only 3 farms to choose from, we decided to take a look at High Gate Ostrich Farm.
With no expectations at all I loved my visit to High Gate. We learned a bit more about these spectacular animals, but feeding them was enormously funny. First I let them eat out my hand, after that I had to walk backwards with a bucket of food in my hand. As a got closer I had ostrich heads all around me. Luckily their beaks are harmless.
Later on I was able to sit on the ostrich, his feathers all around me and he just let me stroke his neck. Although there was a possibility to ride them which sounds really cool, I decided not to, since this isn’t quite enjoyable for these creatures
