Coming North from Jasper towards Banff through the Canadian Rocky Mountains are the famous turquoise colored lakes. These alpine lakes are filled with water from the glaciers, which gives them their distinct color.
Peyto Lake
Only a 10 minute steep climb gives a beautiful panorama view of the Peyto Lake.
Bow Lake
Between showers we were lucky enough for 10 minutes of sun shining through the clouds.
Hector Lake
Lots of mist.
Lake Louise
Lake Louise is probably the most famous and most visited lake in Canada. We were lucky to get a parking spot close to the lake.
Lake Moraine
Visiting Lake Moraine was a bit more challenging, but definitely worth it! As parking is very limited, reserving a shuttle is a must. The reservation only goes through the Canadian government website which needs a login and spaces do fill up. The plus side is that it attracts less tourists and we got a more genuine feel of this Canadian beauty.
Emerald Lake
Moving from Banff, we enter Yoho National Park.
Takakkaw Falls
Not a lake, but a waterfall not to be missed in Yoho.
