Hoa is a nice Vietnamese girl I met who works as a waitress in Hue. While sitting at a table going through brochures and making a plan for the next day, she looks over my shoulder and tells me which of the sights are nice and which aren’t. When I tell her about my plans to rent a motorbike and explore Hue by myself she offers me a ride to see these places together. Well sure, why not?
The day after Hoa picks me up at 9 a.m. on her motorbike and we visit the Citadel of Hue, the Pagoda and 3 tombs together. She just earned her license to be an international guide and wants to practice her English so she can get more customers. During our day together I’m happy to teach her some English and how to pronounce specific words. She tells me she knows of the historic information by listening to the other guides.
At the end of the day we have lunch together and she invites me to come along tomorrow as well. Her friend wants to improve her English too and we can have lunch at their home.
