Shooting in Amsterdam

It’s been a while since I took out my camera from my bag. So when I heard that my work needed a nice picture of Amsterdam for in one of their meeting rooms, it was the perfect opportunity to start shooting.

One thing I hate about the Netherlands is that it’s cloudy 80% of the time. I did want to shoot this weekend so I had a bit of luck that some sunshine came through.

I checked online what would be typical Amsterdam spots. So I took my moped to the ‘Magere Brug’, the ‘Keizersgracht’ and would also check out the new office.

I must say that I’m satisfied with the results. For my picture of the office overlooking the IJ, I had my camera and tripod all set up when a boat with 3 fishermen came into my frame. Usually this would add a nice touch to my image, but since I was working with long exposures it became a total blurr. So I called out to the fishermen if they would kindly move their boat 300 meters further. Fortunately they didn’t mind to follow my request so I got the shot I wanted.
